The Director, Capital Planning & Redevelopment will be responsible for leading the Capital Master Planning Process and resulting successful delivery of large-scale hospital redevelopment projects working in alignment with the Hospital Capital Planning policy and process, Ministry of Health.

The Director, will be responsible for space inventory across all sites, developing space allocation policies, principles for decision making and working with VP?s and Director? for assignment of space.

The Director will deal with internal and external stakeholders to advance project plans from early visioning work through to construction and operations and will develop an internal project team, acquire all necessary consultants and ensure deliverables meet all approved budget, scope and schedule expectations.

The Director will act as the Key Contact for the hospital and will facilitate communication flow to and from external consultants and governmental agencies through to St. Joseph?s Health Care London leadership.



Essential Qualifications

  • Bachelor degree Architecture, Planning, Engineering and/or Project Management
  • PMP certification
  • 7 - 10 years - managing large scale redevelopment projects within a healthcare setting in Ontario
  • Experience having worked with the Ministry of Health and the Four Stages of the Capital Planning Process
  • Experience having worked with Infrastructure Ontario on a hospital redevelopment project
  • Experience managing space assets within a large multi-sited healthcare system
  • Knowledge of a Safety Culture in a Health Care Setting in compliance with the OHSA
  • Strategic level thinking, negotiating and consensus building skills
  • Strong relationship builder with wide circle of stakeholders (internal and external): superior influencing and negotiating skills
  • Broad and comprehensive knowledge hospital and community-based health care services
  • Proven project management skills within the public sector
  • Exceptional understanding of Ministry of Health and Infrastructure Ontario processes for hospital development
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree Architecture, Planning, Engineering and/or Project Management
  • Evidence Based Interior Design Accreditation and Certification, (EDAC)
  • American Institute of Architecture (AIA)
  • National Council for Interior Design Qualification (NCIDQ)
  • LEEDs Accredited Professional

Immunization Requirements
